He ended up going all out on Valentine's day hotel room and all and after some ahmazing sex, we were laying there cuddling and, in between kisses, he told me that he loved me. Which, hallelujah, because I knew I loved him but was too scared to say it. It was some straight romance novel shit.

He drives me crazy sometimes, but he's my knight in crumpled tin foil. We started dating in high school. I waited about a year or year and a half before I told her, but she said it to me after a few months of us dating. Go married after college and still together. I didn't even think about it and accidentally blurted it out. I felt it, I just didn't want to say so that soon. He smiled huge and told me he loved me too. Married with the cutest ever toddler now: It was his birthday, nearly a year after we first got together.
We were with a group of friends, he pulls me onto his lap, and we start talking about our relationship. He told me that he's so happy we're together and that he already knows I love him! Funny thing is, I didn't fully realize I loved him until that point. That man knows me better than I know myself sometimes.

Getting married in First time I said it we were lying in my bed cuddling a bit and kissing and then I looked at her and she just looked so cute with her eyes glancing and her looking up to me a bit like a kitten and I just felt like telling her I love her. That was maybe a week into our relationship.
I'm not really the I love you kind of guy. I say it mostly as a reply to her saying it but there are certain moments where I really feel like telling her I love her. About a month in. We had previously spoke about how if one of us feels ready to say it, don't try waiting for the other, just say how we feel. So for a week or two she gave me every indication she really liked me but was not ready to make the jump to the big L.
She'd drop hints that if I said it, don't expect to hear it back, which I'm fine with, as I'd rather her say it when she is ready instead of feeling obligated. So one night after hanging out, it was raining a bit and I was walking her to her car. I joked about recreating the notebook scene to which she laughed and joked "no no no I said it, knowing she wasn't ready to reciprocate At the time it was the happiest moment. We are still together knock on wood so we've have many other happier moments, but that one will always stay in my mind.
Going to get buried but I actually have a great story. Anyways later that night he came over and I was freaking out.. Did he kill this woman, what was the circumstance, is he on the run from the law, why isn't he telling me anything!!!!

So we hang out and he makes a fire and makes dinner and we are lying by the fire and he told me he loved me for the first time. We were 3 months in. He was so confused.. He had forgotten he even told me that. Long story a little shorter, I said it back. We are 6 years broke up for a year but who is counting? About four months into our relationship, I texted my SO, telling her I loved her We'd been together roughly 16 6 months. I'd never been in love before, but knew that I cared for her more than anything else at that exact moment.
I realised that I was falling in love with her, and one evening whilst we were out walking in London, I started to tell her. She stopped me, and told me that she wasn't sure she was ready to say it back. I was fine with that, as I didn't want her to feel rushed into anything. A few weeks later, I told her, and whilst she wasn't quite ready to say it back to me, it didn't scare her either.
A few weeks after that, she was ready to say it back, and we went from there. I don't even understand how that's possible Neither of us had ever been in a long-term relationship, neither of us had ever been in love, and she'd never had a boyfriend.
How Long Should You Wait To Kiss, Say I Love You, & Go All The Way?
Some relationships take time. We said it on New Years after dating for 5 months. It was pretty sweet! We broke up for a year and got back together. Needless to say we were both iffy to say it again and not until it actually meant something again so that time around, it was 5 months. Still just as sweet: I told him I loved him 2 months before we started officially dating.
I had known him 7 months at that point. We live 1, miles apart and thru stupid circumstances and because of distance a relationship wasn't coming together. We've now been dating 7 months, I'm still waiting on him to say it back, but I'm not in a rush. I want him to mean it when he says it. We both loved each other before we said it, we were too scared to say it.
After our 3rd time having sex, we laid in bed staring at each other and just being in peace, we were both smiling, it was amazing and pure bliss. Then he whispered he loved me. I said l loved him too, and we hugged and I almost cried.
He dumped me 3 days ago because his fam convinced him he needed time to learn to love himself and if he commits to me now he'll hate life forever. No, he blocked me on everything, even my number. We never fought or had problems, he even said our relationship was amazing but he did it anyways. We had been together about months at this point and he was getting ready to go to work, it had been raining and I was walking him out to his car holding an umbrella.
He put his water bottle on a friend's car, pulled me close for a hug then dipped me and kissed me in the rain. When he pulled me back up I could feel him shaking in anticipation, he kissed me again and said "I love you. It was kind of a magical night. The girlfriend is totally gonna see this and we often cringe about it. Anyway, It was, I think four weeks in, so quite fast. We were laying in bed and I said I really, really like you and then she said me too. At this point she sorta knew I wanted to say more so she asked me. I then spent about ten minutes trying to say it but conciously I thought, it's only been four weeks.
She may think I'm crazy and so on. Anyway eventually it was let out and she said she had been feeling the same and had talked about it to a mate recently and didn't want to come across as I had feared.
Welcome to Reddit,
So yea, good timing really: I've been with my SO a year and have never heard it. I could call them 'just words', but, sometimes, you really need to hear it. Reading a majority of these responses, it looks like the average is a few weeks to under 6 months. She accidentally told me the day we started going out as I left for work in the morning "I love you, have a good day at work! I don't rush into the love word either. My norm is months into a relationship before I can really consider myself in love.
The first time we exchanges I love you's is not something I'll forget. She had told me about a thing that is a drama warmup that actors say to warm up and they lip sync or say "watermelon olive juice" and she had commented on how olive juice looks like 'I love you' when you lip it. She lip synced olive juice to me barely audibly before and eventually just lipped it to look like 'I love you' for a bit and it was a bit of a joke for us.
One night we're laying in bed and she's resting on my chest and we're just looking into each other's eyes. Just pure happiness being exchanged and smiles. She's not saying anything but just looks like she's thinking. Finally she says 'on a scale of 1 to olive juice, I love you'. Like some other stories on here We were friends for about 2 years.
Less than two weeks later she had a very scary incident in which she started convulsing really bad; almost seizer like. We went to boarding school so they picked her up in an ambulance. She called me later to tell me she was ok. To this day we still don't know what happened. I knew I loved her by how scared I was. I wanted anything to switch places with her. I told her about a week later, my first time actually seeing her since the accident.
